EFFECT OF ORGANIHUM PLUS ON OLIVE GROWTH
INTRODUCTION:
Olive grove in Andalucía is of
METHODS AND MATERIAL
The trial was carried out in the Chemical Agricultural and Soil Science Department in the
This trial is composed of two commercial varieties of seedlings (Picual and White Olive leaf.).
The treatments were made in appropriate weather conditions, with a constant manual pressure through a piston, with a temporal spacing of 40 days.
It was used an experimental design of divided lands. The two varieties were considered as main lands. In each land were made samples which consisted on three doses and an untreated control/witness. The sampling unit in each sub-land corresponded to a seedling for each one of them, with ten repetitions.
Between the foliar treatments applied, were following:
It was carried out the sprout growth length measurement, taking as starting point a signal marked on itself, immediately before the beginning of treatments. These measurements were realised in periods of 15 days during the months of June and July of 2001.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
As one may see in the following picture, the foliar application of Organihum Plus caused a powerful growth of sprout that in the first threes measurements, that is to say, in the phase of active growth, was twice of the registered growth in the untreated witness.

It seems clear that Organihum Plus has a stimulating effect on metabolism of plant, optimising the growth and the use of all resources presented in the substrate obtaining the best outcome. This action could be due to the improvement of nutrients absorption, to its higher assimilation and translocation inside the plant, to the points in active growth, or else to a combination of these factors.
The highest sprout growth brought about a higher number of internodes and therefore, a higher number of leaves, with the resulting increase of the surface with photosynthetic capacity.
